Adoption difficult family planning program in China and Korea

Indonesia has not adopted the program may control the population growth like China or South Korea even though they were considered very successful in this program. Growth control programs in both countries is effective but too radical and difficult to apply to the conditions of Indonesian society.

"To adopt from another country, how can others do not. The best in the world today which is a program that implemented the first China and then South Korea. In China, each family is limited to one child only. It's not applicable here, especially if the child has two, one being whether it should be discarded, in Indonesia can not be such, "said Sugiri, Head of National Family Planning Coordinating Board (BKKBN), Dr Sugiri Sjarief, Press Conference on the World Contraception Day Jakata, Thursday (23/10 .)

In South Korea alone, family planning programs implemented by the system steady contraception (kontap) or permanent family planning such as vasectomy in men and the tubectomy or sterilization in women.

There, said Sugiri, government support for the program is also very strong. Every family who already has two children are required to kontap. While in Indonesia, kontap still a lot to see many obstacles in terms of both religion and culture.

"In Indonesia kontap acceptance of the fatwa council relies heavily scholars. Kyai Kyai states kontap still forbidden, so it inhibits the development kontap here. It is very difficult to implement such a policy kontap," he said.

Which so far can be applied to the BKKBN, continued Sugiri still on efforts to provide to the public understanding of the importance of planning in a family and having children.
